Sustainability Warriors – Caring for Our Environment
At Sacred Heart, we are deeply committed to caring for the environment and encouraging our students to take an active role in building a more sustainable future.
Each year, students in Years 5 and 6 have the opportunity to become one of our Sustainability Warriors. This leadership role is offered through an application and interview process, helping students develop valuable skills in responsibility, initiative, and teamwork.
Once selected, Sustainability Warriors take on a range of meaningful responsibilities, including:
-
Caring for and maintaining our school gardens
-
Managing compost bins across classrooms
-
Educating their peers about sustainable practices
-
Identifying and addressing environmental issues within the school
These students are passionate about making a difference and take great pride in their role. Through hands-on action and leadership, they help create a school culture that values environmental stewardship, both now and for the future.
At Sacred Heart, we believe that empowering students to lead in sustainability not only benefits the planet, but also nurtures a generation of responsible, thoughtful citizens.
