Principal Report
Dear Families,
Our Big Idea “Connections” is powering forward with the students learning much about the environments of animals in nearby countries and our own country. The juniors had a magnificent day at Gumbuya World and truly explored many different habitats and animal adaptations on their trip. On discussion today the children were bursting with their favourite interaction from the excursion and described in much detail their experiences.
Our focus for connections in the area of Catholic Social Justice has swung into play with the Social Justice team selling icy poles on Tuesdays and Thursdays during term 4 and the Socktober will commence with Silly Sock Day being held on Thursday 27th October, 2022.
I applaud the children who made it to the Regional athletics competition last week. Siena T, Mali A, Yien R and Aleksja S all went to the competition with their families. They had our thoughts with them but showed they were made of true grit attending without a team and managing to fiercely compete. All the competing children told me they were happy with their achievements.
We are really excited about the next steps of our Running track, Bush Tucker Garden and Mosaic. On Friday 4th November we will have a Working Bee at School followed by a sausage sizzle. We will be moving soil into garden beds, planting trees, moving crushed rock, working on the mosaic and doing some general out door cleaning. Children must be accompanied by an adult on the evening. More information will be to hand soon.
Recently we celebrated Our Lady of the Rosary with Mass at the Church. The children were very respectful and sang beautifully. A member of the congregation was so impressed he wrote a beautiful email to me of which I will share a small part. “The Mass was a lovely celebration, immeasurably enhanced by the presence of the school community. I suppose the importance of Catholic primary school teachers is much valued by those in the school community, but not so widely in broader secular society. You are the instruments of the future of the Church, the love of God and humanity. For me it was a special privilege to be part of Friday’s most memorable Mass. So, great credit to you, and May God Bless, you all. “
God Bless, you all and have a lovely weekend,
Anne-Marie Robb
