Good Afternoon Sacred Heart Families,
This week we have celebrated Catholic Education Week. The school captains and
Social Justice team travelled with myself and Mrs. Briggs to St. Francis Xavier
College Beaconsfield. We shared a bus with St. Vincent’s, Lumen Christie and St.
Kieran’s Moe. The children interacted well with the other schools and represented
our school respectfully. Thank you to Sunday and Scarlett for marching into Mass
with our banner alongside every school from the Diocese of Sale.
Walk to school day
Today we celebrated Walk to School Day, a lovely group walked from the wooden
park and the swimming pool in the light rain. We saw lots of lovely morning activities
on the way and enjoyed the banter in our groups.
Grade 5/6 Camp Waratah Bay
The Grade 5/6 enjoyed the Waratah Bay Camp. The three things that were voted as
most impressive were The Beach, The Food and The Activities. Children worked in
teams and had the best attitude towards the competition and exploration.
Online Platforms
Again, I ask all parents to be exceptionally vigilant with online platforms as children
at school age are not meant to be on them alone and most do not have the maturity
to be able to self-regulate without support from an adult. Please keep an eye on your
child/ren’s interactions on digital platforms.
Confirmation
Please keep Peyton, Xavier, Nevaeh, Maddy and Ali in your prayers as they have
begun the journey of preparing for receiving the sacrament of Confirmation. The
Grade 6 team are supporting them as they are travelling along a similar journey.
A reminder, The Grade 6 children that they are inviting their families to a Gifts and
Service evening next Thursday. All the children in Grade 6 are researching a
traditional saint and a personal everyday saint. This is someone they know and
admire who has shown them saint like behaviour. They will serve a meal to their
families and present their research and knowledge.
School Uniform
Please continue to send your children in the correct uniform, children must wear
black shoes on the four days they do not have sport. Hats are now no longer needed
at school, please make sure hair ribbons and scrunchies are in school colours, bottle
green, red, white or neutral tones.
Netball
We congratulate the 5/6 mixed netball team; we have won the district champion for a
second year in a row. Well done all players.
Exciting news
We are excited to announce the Mrs. Martin will return to Sacred Heart to take on the
PE role and she will be working across all levels with both junior and senior teams.
We look forward to having Mrs. Martin back at Sacred Heart.
New Oval
The new oval plans are progressing slowly. I will be having a meeting with the
DOSCEL planning team and architects next week and I will then speak with the
School Advisory Committee about next steps.
Blessing for the week ahead,
Anne-Marie Robb
