Dear Families,
I welcome you all to Term Four.
Swimming
Thank you to all families with the engagement supporting our swimming program.
The swim instructors this year are delivering a new swim program and have asked
us to be patient with their delivery of information around needs as they are learning
the delivery.
The instructors have made a considerate effort to thank our students and staff with
behaviour and interactions at the pool. Comments like “this is my favourite school”
“Sacred Heart children follow instructions well” have been passed onto us. Thank
you to the beautiful children attending Sacred Heart as their engagement is noticed
in the wider community. The staff I also thank, as the walking to and from the pool for many has increased their personal steps so well.
Children are happy but exhausted.
Our Big Idea for Term 4 is Geography
Big Idea for Term 4 is “Geography”. In Faith Education the children will be learning
about the journey of “social justice” and issues around the world. They will focus on
the story of “The Good Samaritan”. The seniors will lead the school in the mission
month of October and celebrate Socktober activities (maybe this might happen
closer to November). Learning about the Holy Land children will continue to consider
Geography during the Advent season as they consider the journey of Joseph and
Mary and the beginning of their life as a family.
The Production – The Time Machine
The students are fine tuning their skills for the production. Our senior actors are
nearly there and are keen to show how they can act and dance.
The tickets are $5 each and plenty are available so please get online to book. If you
are concerned about costuming please email your child’s teacher we will support
everyone in this area.
School uniform
It is great to see most students are wearing the correct school uniform with no brand
black shoes please make sure your child has the correct colour shoes. Hats are now
compulsory Please ensure to send your child with a note (email to teachers) if they
are out of uniform, we understand wet socks and muddy shoes and not yet dry
jumpers on occasion.
Communicating with teachers
At Sacred Heart we invest in the partnership we have with families. We invite all
parents and carers to communicate with teachers about any concern you may have
regarding your child’s education. If there is a concern brought to your attention,
please let us know so we can work together to improve learning outcomes. Email is
an efficient way to communicate.

Absence at school
If your child is unwell for an extended period, we are required to ask for a medical
certificate. If you are taking your child for a holiday or have a family event for any
period of time, we must have written notification. This can be via email or the SIMON
everywhere app. Attending school is compulsory, and we are required by law to
record daily attendances.
Please enjoy the blessings of your children over the weekend,
God Bless,
Anne-Marie Robb
First week back at school
We have started our first week back at school and also started school swimming lessons! So everyone is tired! We began our first swimming lesson on Tuesday and we ended on Friday. Today we done survival swimming wearing life jackets.
We also entered a competition for a Christmas card, whoever wins the competition will win something cool such as a spotlight voucher for art supplies! We have to draw the Christmas card on the theme Matthew 2:11 this is the story where the 3 kings give Jesus gifts when he was born!
Grade 6
The grade 6’s have started to make their slide shows and cool booklets for graduation night since they will be leaving at the end of the year. It has been lots of fun looking back at our time at school!!
